Obituary of Amado Soriano Mendoza

Amado Mendoza, age 79 passed away on June 11, 2018, at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in the Philippines to Feliciano Mendoza and Maria Soriano. He attended Luzon Colleges, Philippines receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Commerce. Amado met the only love of his life, Narcisa Vinluan and they were married for 49 years. Amado wanted a better life for his family, and after 15 years of not giving up, he finally moved his family to California. Amado enjoyed do-it-yourself projects, vacationing with Narcisa to the Philippines, and playing with his 15 grandchildren. Amado was very passionate about his garden, and he had a “green thumb.” He had the gift of growing fruits and vegetables and shared his harvest with families, friends, and the locals. All who knew Amado will greatly miss him. He is survived by his 5 daughters: Arlene Pulido, Armie M. Alonzo, Marisa M. Jones, Mariam Plowman, and Maricel M. Eddington and son, Manuelito V. Mendoza and 15 grandchildren. There will be 2 days of visitation at Mission Mortuary on Saturday, June 16 from 1-5 pm and Sunday, June 17 from 1-5 pm. There will be a Mass of Catholic Burial at the San Carlos Cathedral on Monday, June 18 at 10:00 am with burial following at San Carlos Cemetery. Reception to follow at Lee’s Garden Restaurant, Monday, 18 June 2018 at 12:30 PM.
