I have driven Monterey Public Library's bookmobile for the past 14 years. I met Marian on the bookmobile at our Park Lane stop. She was an avid reader, and one of my favorite customers. Occasionally she would talk politics, and I found I always agreed with her take on issues, politicians, current events etc. She was always so appreciative of the bookmobile service, and later the Outreach service. I visited her at Monterey Pines a few days before my 7 week trip to Spain in early October. I had stopped by to drop off a list of mysteries that the Library had in its collection. I ended up sitting and visiting with her and assisting her with her dinner. She asked me to come by when I returned to tell her about my trip. I told her I would. A colleague from the Library sent me an email telling me she had died while I was still in Madrid. It made me very sad, but also very glad that I had stopped by to see her before leaving the country. She was a special woman. I am very sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Joanne

We read about your mother and wished we had known her. How fortunate that she lived until 95. Even though her death was expected, it leaves you with sadness and sorrow, and we are sorry for your loss. Please accept our understanding sympathy.
